The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is no stranger to introducing characters from alternate realities and parallel dimensions. With the ever-expanding multiverse at its disposal, the possibilities for storytelling are endless.

One character that has captured the imagination of fans is Lady Deadpool, the alternate-universe counterpart of Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool.

However, if Lady Deadpool does make her debut in the MCU, it’s unlikely that she will be portrayed as Wanda Wilson. Let’s delve into the rich tapestry of the Marvel multiverse and explore the potential for a new interpretation of this beloved character.

Movies Rants Team has analyzed the first and second Deadpool movies and also some comic references, and they have come up with a solid theory that says “Daughter of Wade Wilson: Cher Will Appear As Lady Deadpool.

Lady Deadpool, introduced in Marvel Comics as Wanda Wilson, is a fascinating and unique character within the expansive Deadpool universe. Originating from Earth-3010, an alternate reality, she is a female counterpart to the iconic character Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool. Wanda shares a similar backstory with Wade, including the infamous Weapon X program that bestowed her with regenerative healing abilities and superhuman reflexes.

Lady Deadpool’s unique abilities are not limited to her regenerative healing factor. Like Wade, she is an expert in hand-to-hand combat and proficient with various weapons, making her a formidable opponent. However, it is her unpredictable nature and tendency to break the fourth wall that truly resonates with fans, mirroring the chaotic charm that makes Deadpool such a beloved character.

Why The Daughter of Wade Wilson? (Theory)

In the post-credit scene of Deadpool 2, Deadpool steals Cable’s time machine and starts “cleaning up the timelines.” In one of these cleanups, Wade saves Vanessa’s life (Probably the Vanessa, who we saw in the Deadpool 3 Trailer) and declares that their child’s name is going to be “Cher” before zipping off to kill the X-Men Origins: Wolverine version of himself, kill Ryan Reynolds before he plays Green Lantern, and change baby Hitler’s diaper.

Now, let’s analyze the Deadpool 3 trailer. Vanessa refers to Wade with the rather unromantic “buddy” at his birthday, and any potential children or pregnancies are nowhere to be seen despite both characters showing interest in the previous film. From there, he gets dragged off by the TVA (Time Variance Authority) and taken to the Void, as seen in Loki. Considering that the Void is inhabited by variants of pruned timelines, if Lady Deadpool is to be included in the film, it would likely be here.

Here’s where our crackpot theory comes in. I don’t think the Wade Wilson we’re seeing here is the same one from the post-credit scene. Because of his actions and the destabilization of timelines, he was pruned by the TVA to prevent further damage and incursions. We are instead following the most stable timeline by the TVA’s standard—one where Vanessa and Wade are “buddies,” close enough to be content in life, but not close enough that she’d get killed as a result of Deadpool’s job, resulting in him stealing a time machine to fix it.

GALLARY

If Deadpool 2 Wade and Vanessa got pruned, then perhaps Lady Deadpool won’t be a simple gender swap. Maybe it’s Cher—their daughter who inherited Wade’s healing factor and genetic predisposition for cancer, resulting in her developing a similarly avocado/nutsack-like visage. The child that Wade never had because the circumstances for her birth required so much shenanigannery that it threatened the very fabric of the multiverse.

This theory is mostly a way for me to cope with the fact that Marvel is probably planning to undermine Wade’s development, storylines, and supporting cast from the previous films to integrate him into the MCU. But a fan can dream.
